• Attending one of the Health Department’s Healthier Streets & Neighborhoods workshops satisfies one of the five activities to get your where you live designated as a “Healthier Street & Neighborhood”. The class in around one hour covers three learning objectives.
• You’ll get to see a map showing the average age at the time of death for every neighborhood in Montgomery County. This is based on the last 5 years of Death Certificate data.- 15 Minutes
• You’ll learn about how the design, walkability, and distance to healthy food and recreation is related to the health and life expectancy of a neighborhood. – 15 Minutes
• The University of Tennessee Agriculture Extension and our local master gardeners also offer presentation on starting and caring for your personal or community garden. – 30 Minutes
